CONSTRUCTION PHASES
Modular construction in several stages
An architectural competition was held for the design of the buildings and open spaces, which were to be implemented in several construction phases and meet the architectural requirements of a modern innovation park. In the expert evaluation process, the Rotterdam-based architects MVRDV won out with their modular master plan, as did Hamburg-based Hadi Teherani Architects with their proposal for the use of existing buildings.
HIP ONE (1st construction phase)
In HIP One, approx. 5,000 m² of rentable space have been created. The main tenant is the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) with the Institutes for Environmental Technology and Energy Management, the Institute for Algorithms and Complexity as well as the Institute for Digital Economics and the Institute for Software Security. In addition, innovative companies have taken up space in HIP One.
HIP TWO (2nd construction phase)
In HIP Two, approximately 20,000 m² will be created for research institutions and technology-oriented companies in the form of development and office space, laboratories and coworking spaces. The development plan for the building is currently being adapted, and the preliminary building application has been submitted.
HIP THREE (3rd construction phase)
For HIP Three, the idea is to integrate the existing massive concrete hall into the building. This will create approx. 8,000 m² for development and office space as well as laboratories or workshops. The target group are research institutions as well as innovative companies from the technology-related industry.
HIP FOUR (4th construction phase)
In HIP Four, parking areas for the entire HAMBURG INNOVATION PORT will be created. Planning for additional development and office space will continue on an as-needed basis. All construction phases will be connected with bridges between the buildings to create the best possible exchange between all tenants and users.
